Introduction
Hey, I'm Silvana, a free spirit who doesn't know how to write an intro, but feel free to check out my YouTube channel if you wish to get to know me better. :-)
If I had to describe myself using words, they would be:
Creative, Passionate, Wild, Feminine and my name: Silvana
How did I get here
When I was 15 I had this deep desire to wear unique garments, but since my family was at that time in a bad financial situation, there was no money to fulfil this desire.
I was tired of wearing hand-me-downs, so I asked my granny and my mom to teach me how to sew.
There was this old Singer sewing machine sitting in a corner of my room that my auntie Maria left us when she moved to Australia. It was my first sewing machine.
The first thing I made was a light purple pencil skirt with lateral split using gabardine cotton and I still remember the emotions I felt the first time I wore it.
This was just the beginning.......
My experiences
I don't want to annoy you with a long list of all my experiences, since it would take ages..... :-D
But I've been working in the fashion industry for nearly 20 years and I would like to share a few of them with you:
- I worked on a project as a sample maker for Adidas' Sample Innovation Studio, making multiple sports jackets.
- I worked on several projects for P&O cruises developing costumes for shows such as "Les Miserables", "Paradise City" and "The Lion King" ...
- I made several bespoke shirt patterns for Massimo Arcolin.
- I made many bespoke patterns for DSI London and worked on several projects for movies and theatre shows such as Cher, Wicked, Xmas Carol goes wrong, Sky is The Limit and more when I was working for this amazing UK based company.
- I created a bespoke bride dress for Diane De Malherbe
